Buechel Lodge has always demonstrated an exceptional amount of talent and profesionalism in our degree work. The team consists of both members of Buechel and Scottish Rite. Buechel Lodge has, for some time, exclusively done the 26th Degree at the Scottish Rite. Buechel Lodge also travels to other lodges including some out of state to perform degree work for those lodges and to watch to see how other lodges do their degree work.If you would like to invite the Beuchel 896 F&AM Degree Team to your lodge to perform degree work please return to the home page and click either the contact link at the top of the page or the How To Join and call the phone number provided. Information for the non-mason and the curious
There are 3 degrees in the Blue Lodge. Entered Apprentice, Fellow Craft, and Master Mason. Each degree has an initiation ceromony called degree work. It is based on scripture from the Holy Bible, as well as history passed down through many generations of Free Masons. The degree work usese allegories to portray the stories and history of the Free Masons and includes the candidate in this degree work to better impress on his mind and heart the true meaning and importance of becoming a Mason. There are certain requirements to be met in each degree before being permitted to advance to the next degree. Each degree is a learning stage and each is a building block in the foundation of the lodge. Once a candidate attains the third degree or that of Master Mason he is allowed to participate in lodge business and voting as such. Master Mason is the highest degree one can attain in the Blue Lodge. Beyond the Blue Lodge is Scottish Rite and Kosair Shrine. In the Scottish Rite a mason can advance to the 33rd degree, however most only advance to 32nd Degree. This is a whole other endevour and is only mentioned here for informative purposes.
